This striking contemporary home is located in Sungmam, Gyeounggi-do, Korea. It was designed by IROJE KHM Architects, who didn’t have to look too far for inspiration. The remarkable shape of the building was directed by the irregular shape of the lot. Actually, the house seems to follow the topography of the land in a very natural and flowing manner.
What we really like about this unconventional home, called Bu Yeon Dang, is that it allows for many unique indoor and outdoor spaces, including beautiful bamboo gardens and lovely rooftop terraces.

This residence reminds us how architecture, when in harmony with nature, transcends mere shelter to become a living poem—where form and environment converse quietly, inviting us to reconsider our place within the world’s unfolding landscape.
Thank you for your thoughtful reflection. Indeed, Bu Yeon Dang embodies that delicate balance, where architecture and nature create a serene dialogue, inspiring us to reconnect with our surroundings in meaningful ways.
