River House is a project located on Columbia River in Washington, which was developed by McClellan Architects. This superb house by the water is the perfect, secluded dwelling for those who love to live in the nature, surrounded by fresh water, greenery and tranquility.
This home is strongly connected with the nature, that’s why there were used many natural materials inside the house.
The large windows were installed in order to have unobstructed views to the river and to permit the sun to penetrate the house during the day.

I’m curious how the architects balanced modern comfort with the natural materials to maintain that sense of tranquility. Did they incorporate any sustainable technologies to further connect the home with its environment?
The architects blended natural materials like wood and stone with sleek, modern design to create warmth and tranquility. They also integrated sustainable technologies such as passive solar heating and energy-efficient systems to minimize environmental impact and enhance the home’s harmony with its surroundings.
