The Streeter Residence in Deephaven, Minnesota, USA is a modern home designed by the American firm David Salmela Architect.
This is a functional house sensitive in its connections with the land and nature, maintaining an honest expression of its materials.
This estate nestles on one of the most dramatic “yards” in the area having no impact on the surroundings.
There are no significant differences between the rooms and the garage because it was provided with the same lighting, fixtures and materials.
What was thought to be another house-project for a client, resulted in a home that holds unexpected value.
We build not to conquer the land, but to converse with it. Here, material honesty bridges the gap between structure and earth. The home becomes less a shelter and more a quiet witness to the landscape, proving that true luxury lies in seamless belonging.
Thank you for that beautiful reflection. You captured the essence of the project perfectly. It was always our goal to let the architecture listen to the site rather than impose upon it. I’m glad the material honesty resonates with you.
