Flaunting a unique architecture, the Island House was designed by Iroje KHM Architects, a Seoul-based practice – and it was completed in 2008. It offers approximately 6,760 square feet of space, being surrounded by beautiful landscapes. It is located in Gapyunggun, Gyeounggi-do, South Korea.
The inspiration for this remarkable project came from its lovely setting, which faces a shimmering river and is surrounded by unparalleled natural beauty. With irregular polygonal shaped concrete glass and metal elements, the house stands out as a rare gem. The angled transparent façade affords panoramic river views from different parts of the house.
We also really love the green garden and the irregularly-shaped outdoor swimming pool, which seems to reiterate the whole architectural message of the residence. A riverfront luxury home like this is a rare sight, and we truly enjoy admiring it.
