The Norwegian Official Residence located in Colombo, Sri Lanka was designed by Dis. interiØrarkitekter. Its interior reflects a Nordic style in order to cover various functions of public visits. The building’s character was preserved, so the concept was designed around it, permitting the furniture and lighting to be in contrast and highlight the two different worlds gathered in one single and unique location.
The furniture chosen by the designers emphasizes the Scandinavian design in the same time being inspired by Sri Lankan traditional clothing.
Large rooms with touches of dark wood and hard surfaces are flooded with natural light all day long due to the floor-to–ceiling windows.
