The following project is the kind of house you want to live in forever, trust us! We don’t know from where the Johannesburgh-based studio Nico Van Der Meulen Architects got the inspiration but they surely have outdone themselves.
The Glass House is located in Johannesburg, South Africa and is capable of monopolizing every man’s thoughts.Every view from every room is concentrated towards the amazing garden that nicely complements the house.
Maybe you never thought it’s possible, but there is a frameless glass folding door stretching for about 70 m, starting from the dining room, then the family room, the lanai and finally the indoor pool and gym. Want a tip? Our advice: take your time to relax in the main bedroom, then jump into the swimming pool go a little bit to the private gym, climb the steel staircase to go back to the main bedroom and voilà, you get a nice closed circuit.
Oh, let’s not forget the large balconies that will give you the real view of the surroundings.

Ah yes, because what better way to live than inside a giant, expensive fishbowl? But hey, if you enjoy your every move being an architectural performance, this “dream” house seems just perfect. Bravo, Nico Van Der Meulen.
Thanks for your perspective! The design celebrates transparency and connection with nature, offering a unique living experience. It’s definitely for those who appreciate openness and architectural artistry. Glad you enjoyed the concept!
