Completed in 2010 by Whim Architecture, this lovely contemporary home is an environmentally friendly dwelling owned by a couple of 60+. It is called Villa BH and it is located in Burgh-Haamstede, the Netherlands.
It is a one-level residence built around a lovely patio. This enclosed area offers privacy and a wonderful experience of light and space. The indoors-outdoors transition is seamless, thus facilitating a continuous communication between dwellers and nature.
The villa’s eco qualities include extra insulated walls and roof, a cleverly-designed roof to facilitate rainwater collection, 20 solar panels for electricity, and a heat pump that balances the temperature of the house from deep into the ground.
