It offers just 538 square feet of living space but it represents a delightful place to come home to. We’re talking about the House at the Pond, which was designed by a firm named HPSA and was completed in 2014 in Gramastetten, Austria. One of the most interesting aspects regarding this cozy home is related to its location. It was built in close proximity to a tranquil pond and is surrounded by a beautiful garden.
The structure is supported by four pillars, and it blends easily with its surroundings thanks to the natural materials that were used in its construction. Wood was a great choice for the surfaces and bearing structure, while glass (in the form of large windows and sliding doors) was the obvious choice to obtain the illusion of extra space through transparency. The kitchen and a small dining area benefit from plenty of natural light, and they are connected to a wooden outdoor patio that was built at the edge of the pond.
