This is an awarded property designed by Superkül Inc Architect and it is set in Toronto, Canada. It was awarded in 2012 with the Design Excellence distinction given by the Ontario Association of Architects.
The concept for this house was challenging since the owner desired a grand place for entertaining, as well as a private home during the day. Being split in section and plan, the dwelling allows the external light to flood the center area. Another trick used to meet the owner’s requirements was to have high ceilings that create a great open space when connected to the brown floor made of rich wood. The same floor extends to the outside using an ipe deck, creating a small space that is actually easy to maximize when opened.
To obtain the calm ambiance of the home, the colour palette of the materials used was made of warm and natural colors. From the interior one can admire the view over the neighbourhood and the sky. One other important element is the pool in the back of the house.
