Comfort and Relaxation At The Ecork Hotel in Evora, Portugal

Built and designed in 2013 by an architect named José Carlos Cruz, the splendid Ecork Hotel is nestled in Evora in Portugal. The name of this extraordinary establishment was chosen because it was built on cork and olive trees, while its highly efficient layout was inspired by the medieval villages of the Alentejo.

These villages were known to comprise a large central building or castle that was surrounded by several smaller white buildings. In this case, these smaller buildings are, in fact, 56 bungalows that act as fully equipped suites, boasting fantastic living conditions and numerous amenities throughout. Furthermore, this unique hotel also flaunts its own gymnasium, spa, restaurant, conference rooms, bar, health club and outdoor swimming pool, which means that its guests would never want for anything during their stay.

The main building we mentioned before comprises all of the hotel’s facilities, and it was sketched out following the guidelines of Arabic architecture, which is why it boasts small outside openings that are complemented by cork coating in order to ensure an optimum thermal balance at all times.
