House A&B is a 2,314 square foot residence in Perchtoldsdorf, Austria. It was created by Smertnik Kraut Architekten and finished in 2012 on a small lot and with strict zone regulations. The property used to hold a small summer house, and the owners wanted it replaced with a beautiful open home for two.
The brief asked for a house that would reflect the owners’ style and passion for arts and furniture. They also wanted a home with integrated garden and pool, one that would ensure a seamless transition from inside to the outdoor living and entertaining spaces.

Ah yes, the classic “small lot, big dreams” scenario. Nothing like squeezing a luxury open-plan masterpiece with a pool onto a postage stamp, all while bending strict regulations. Truly, architecture’s version of a magic trick.
Absolutely! It’s always a rewarding challenge to maximize space creatively while respecting regulations, turning constraints into opportunities for innovative design. Glad you appreciate the magic behind it!
