The Garden Room is a fantastic project designed by architects from Welsh+Major and located in Sydney, Australia. The project team consisted of Chris Major, David Welsh and Steven Sheridan, while the garden designer was Peter Fudge Design.
The builder was Davden Enterprises, the structural engineers were Birzulis Associates and the hydraulic engineers came from Henry & Hymas. Arborist Robert Hannan also provided valuable input for this impressive garden makeover, which was completed in 2013.
The project involved placing the garden at the core of a spacious, modern residence and creating a series of outdoor areas that were well suited for leisurely activities. The boundaries between the garden and the residence itself are blurred with the help of a special “garden room”, which offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation. The project received the 2014 NSW AIA Architecture Award for Small Projects, and for good reason too, as it resembles a true paradisiacal oasis.
