Coeur D’Alene Residence is a cabin located on Coeur D’Alene Lake, in North Idaho, which was designed by Uptic Studios.
The dwelling was meant to serve as a modern cabin for a couple, their children and their grandchildren. Everyone has his/hers private rooms, while are still able to join together in the common rooms.
The site’s existing conditions coordinated the entire design of the house. Because the terrain is steep and narrow with a natural spring that passes beneath the hillside, the structure of the cabin had to be properly created.
The architects tried to find out more about the family and their interests in order to create an environment addressed to everyone’s needs and visions.
In order to maximize the outdoor space and to provide a clear view of the landscape, there weren’t set any columns on the deck. It was created a unique relationship between the deck and the indoor common areas, thanks to the large sliding doors.
