Heliotrope Architects designed the Suncrest Residence located in Orcas Island, Washington. This project is a beautiful dwelling that welcomes the outdoors inside with the use of wood and through the open walls permits the natural air to circulate throughout the spaces.
The forest surrounds the building acting like a protection and allows in the same time to visualize the sea because of the large rocky clearing. Its structure is wrapped around an outcropping of rock, that’s why it was asked for a minimum of tree removal.
The sea can be viewed from every room, while the strong connection with the forest is still kept.
