The Wairau Valley House is located at just minutes from Blenheim, in Rapaura, New Zeeland. It was designed by Parsonson Architects and we can describe it as a very rural and welcoming estate.
The owners wanted a home that could identify with the surroundings and connect to the land spatially and materially.
The indoor and the outdoor spaces are defined by the heavy, concrete walls that give the sensation of actually being part of the land.
The landscape is cultivated with orchard trees and vines, the scenery being in this way complete.
The natural feel and the warm environment of the house is given by the materials used in the main spaces such as concrete and Eucalyptus Saligna.
Don’t be scared about the traditional and rustic landscapes because the house is very modern and features all the amenities one needs.
