Locomotive Ranch Trailer is a vintage streamlined aluminum home trailer. It is located in Uvalde, Texas and was designed by Andrew Hinman Architecture.
The owner of the trail wanted to move it on his South Texas ranch overlooking the Nueces River, which is his family’s favorite place. Because of the faulty geology and the flash-flood prone nature to riverside location, the foundation of the trailer needed special care, which consisted in a steel-framed, metal-roofed cradle that simply lifted the trailer above the flood plain.
The cradle is anchored by a concrete blockhouse, which includes utilities, storage and bathroom.
The trailer’s interior is covered in bamboo panels, and the lighting is provided by LED cove and mini-spots, which create a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
