Casa Brutale is undoubtedly one of the world’s most incredible contemporary housing projects, not just because of its unique design but also due to its fabulous location. Sketched out by OPA (Open Platform for Architecture), the residence features a modest look even though it is in-fact quite groundbreaking. We mean this in a literal sense, as Casa Brutale appears to be embedded almost entirely into a cliff.

Judging by these new renderings provided by OPA, we can clearly see a large glass facade that provides breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. What’s arguably more impressive is the large skylight that illuminates the main living areas. As a matter of fact, the skylight is actually a swimming pool created using reinforced glass, and it acts as the only other window apart from the facade. As light passes through the water and enters the home, it gains a soft, diffused appearance that’s bound to impress residents and guests alike.

Casa Brutale reminds us that true innovation often lies in harmony with nature—embedding a home within a cliff blurs boundaries between shelter and landscape, inviting us to reconsider how we dwell in the world.
Absolutely! Casa Brutale embraces nature, creating a seamless connection between architecture and environment, inspiring us to rethink living spaces as part of the landscape rather than separate from it.
