The Becherer House in Albemarle County, Virginia is a gorgeous estate designed by the architect Robert M. Gurney.
This area is defined by rolling pastures, bordered with dark and stained fences interspersed in woodlands. It provides amazing views due to the fact that this house is sited at the edge of woodland on the crest of a hill.
Because the central living pavilion features large expanses of glass along two walls, views to the woods and the rolling horse pastures are accessible.
The transition from the house to the woods is made by a dry-stacked slate wall. The modern aspect of the residence is given by the large expanses of glass, cement board paneling and crisp and by the minimal detailing.
