The Washington Park Hilltop Residence is a sustainable home, with system of small ‘canals’ inspired by those from Venice, Italy and Suzhou, China, that was created by Stuart Silk Architects in 2012. It is located in Seattle, Washington, USA and provides views over the vast lake towards which is orientated.
This is a contemporary home and because the clients worried about the project’s sustainability, the architects incorporated many options that make it durable and efficient such as a green roof, a gray water collection system and solar panels for water heating.
This construction has a simple geometry but offers rich superposition of solidity, transparency and liquid movement.
