Sophisticated D House by Lode Architecture

Lode Architecture completed the D House in 2012. It is located in Brittany, France and is beached on the estuary’s banks. It consists of multifunctional uses because it can host a party or could be a shelter, a reception space or a private space.

The upstairs floor always flooded by natural light offers panoramic views of the underground and beyond the river.

A hushed atmosphere is set upstairs due to the succession of small spaces. A series of adjoining rooms which receive the light through wooden trellises, filter the view and dim the light.

The duality of the spaces is reflected by the contrasting facades, both adopting the same strategy of camouflage consisting in the reflection of the leaves on the glazed surfaces.
