Built for a young family with a child in Nicosia, Cyprus, House 0605 is a contemporary residence by Simpraxis Architects. Being a half-plot project, it shares a wall with a neighboring house, but the architects managed to find a way to avoid the feeling of a crowded home in a too restrictive space.
The indoor-outdoor interplay is variable and can be controlled by the owners according to their mood and the time of the day. Retractable shading devices, perforated metal panels, and simple curtains can be opened or shut to modify the amount of openness towards the courtyard and the neighborhood. At the same time private and open, this is an excellent home for a modern family.
