As one of the most amazing homes in Nanaimo, Canada, the Double High House was designed by Checkwitch Poiron Architects, and it impresses with an airy, beautifully decorated interior and a plethora of high-end amenities and modern facilities. The residence flaunts 2 stories and receives plenty of natural light throughout the day thanks to its southern orientation.
The large windows and multiple glass elements also play a key role in creating an atmosphere of warmth and comfort, especially at the ground floor where a sliding door system all but eliminates the boundaries between the indoors and outdoors.
Outside, there’s a wooden deck that flaunts barbecuing facilities as well as comfortable seating arrangements and a small coffee table. As far as efficiency and sustainability are concerned, the architects decided to implement radiant hydronic heating in the floors as well as a heat recovery ventilator and a series of modern, low-power yet highly efficient lighting arrangements.
The Double High House is surrounded by lush greenery and appears to blend easily with its environment – another reason why it represents such an incredible place to call home.
