The unusual looking Leaning House was designed by PRAUD and is located in Maryeong-myeon, Jinan-gun, Korea. It flaunts 1,367 square feet of living space and was built close to Chungpyong Lake, with an imposing mountain at its back. The home’s modern design includes a leaning box, which features a frame structure at its envelope as well as a vertical glass box that provides structure.
Even though the owner requested just a living room, a reading room and a bedroom as the main living areas, the elevation of the house’s program box allowed the architects to implement another living room and an outdoor terrace. This terrace is not a private area but it’s not a public area either, and it provides great relaxation and socialization opportunities.
As far as materials are concerned, Zinc was used to envelop the box as well as the roof, exterior ceiling and siding. This masterpiece of architecture by PRAUD blends seamlessly with its surrounding environment and offers contemporary, comfortable living conditions in the middle of a relatively remote site.
