Boasting a remarkable blend of a contemporary layout and elegant interior arrangements, the Bird’s Nest residence in Scottsdale, Arizona was inspired in its design by the works of Rudolph Schindler and Richard Neutra. As such, the home is integrated seamlessly into its surrounding environment and was built using natural materials such as wood and stone.
One of the most impressive areas of the home is the Great Room, which flaunts a direct connection to the nearby pool terrace. The home got its name due to its “bird’s nest” that can be found on the second floor. This area benefits from direct access to a terrace and private courtyard, as do the rest of the main living spaces.
This ensures that the residents would always be able to spend time outdoors regardless of their location within the abode itself. The sharp angles and rectangular shapes of the layout are balanced by a series of native desert plants that can be found along the inner pathways and in front of the main entrance.
