Hupomone Ranch is a modern and energy-efficient home that was completed in 2014 by a firm named Turnbull Griffin Haesloop Architects. It can be found in Petaluma, California, USA, and it offers no less than 2,498 square feet of living space. However, its main highlights are related to sustainability and efficiency, which is why it earned the prestigious LEED Platinum certification.
Thermal mass and high quality insulation were implemented in order to ensure passive heating, but we should also mention the Geothermal systems as well as the radiant cooling, radiant heating and photovoltaic panels that provide much needed energy to several domestic appliances. The outdoor living arrangements as well as the beautiful landscaping were designed by Lutsko Associates, but many of the benches and exterior tables were actually built by the owners themselves.
Inside, we find a lovely mix of minimalism and elegance exemplified by crisp white walls, high quality furnishings and large windows that frame great views of the surrounding environment. This is a home that promises comfortable living conditions to its owners and their guests, and it can be used as both a weekend retreat house and as a permanent dwelling.
