Designed by a company called MPGARQUITETURA, the JG House is a luxurious abode that can be found in Itaipava, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The residence was designed to blend seamlessly with its natural environment, and in order to achieve this goal, the architects in charge of the project led by Miguel Pinto GuimarĂ£es decided to create a very large garden on the rooftop.
The house occupies 7,750 square feet of space, and it boasts exceptional living conditions for its fortunate owners. The bedrooms are found at the upper floor, which features a U-shaped floor plan that sits above the veranda, home theatre and dining room. The uniqueness of the design consists in the lack of pillars to support the bedrooms at the upper floor.
This lack of pillars strengthens the link between the indoors and outdoors and creates a connection between the verandah, living room and garden. Proper support was achieved by using Vierendeel truss, which also helped create a visually stunning structural skeleton. The living room and the garden are undoubtedly some of the most important areas of the home, and they can be used for socialization and relaxation. The materials used for the finishing touches were chosen for their naturalness, and they include stone for detailing, wood for the floors and the ceiling as well as concrete for the walls.
