Contemporary Casa Equis by Barclay & Crousse Architecture

Completed in 2003 by Barclay & Crousse Architecture, this remarkable contemporary residence seems to really grow out of the landscape in La Escondida Beach, Cañete, Peru. Casa Equis flaunts blurry interior-exterior boundaries. This is especially visible at the point where the spacious living/dining area meets the large terrace with pool.

Beneath the terrace there is the bedroom level, reachable via an open staircase. At the end of the staircase, the parents’ bedroom can be accessed by passing under the suspended pool. The children’s bedrooms can be reached a patio/pergola under the terrace deck.

The natural colors of the residence were chosen not only to help it perfectly blend into the landscape, but also to prevent the visual aging of the building as the desert dust sets all over the house. The result is really impressive and we definitely like it.
