Situated in Hill Head, on the south coast of England, UK, the Lighthouse 65 was designed by AR Design Studio, and completed this year. The 2,000-square-foot residence features 3 bedrooms, each of them offering magnificent views of the Isle of Wight and the Solent.
The owners enjoy complete privacy, as the house was built 7 meters below the level of the road, the roof being used as a parking lot for 3 cars. To get into the house one has to ascend the concrete stair core and pass through an illuminated glass cube, which is in fact the ‘lighthouse’. This cube serves as an indicator of local weather (green for fair weather and red for atmospheric pressure drops), and it is visible from long distances, warning the yachtsmen of any storms.
