The three tiers of this residence designed by the Santiago-based firm Hsü Rudolphy descend a sloped terrain leading to Rapel Lake, establishing various terraces and providing access to the water.
Situated approximately two hours south of Santiago, the 244-square-meter Slope House offers a view of Chile’s Rapel Lake, an artificial reservoir that supplies water to a dam further along the Rapel River.
Hsü Rudolphy, a studio directed by Ian Hsü and Gabriel Rudolphy, crafted the property to descend toward the water’s edge. The upper section, however, extends over the lower part, creating a sizable window that is complemented by a terrace, both of which provide views of the landscape.
