Award-Winning Eagle Bay Residence In Australia

Sketched out by expert architects Paul Jones and Zorzi South, the Eagle Bay Residence is an extraordinary example of modern architecture that can be found in Australia, in very close proximity to Eagle Bay’s beach. This majestic home has a total of 7 awards under its belt, one of which is the 2014 Master Builders Association South West Home of the Year award.

The residence owes its magnificence to a carefully selected array of natural materials, which can be found throughout its main living areas. The cedar-lined ceilings and the walls were painted white for a touch of minimalism and elegance, and they contrast beautifully with the numerous natural timber elements and the floorboards made out of recycled tallow-wood. The cabinets were also created using high quality wood, cedar timber to be precise, but we should also mention the exterior of the house, which was enveloped in pacific teak.

The extensive use of wood elements was meant to balance the industrial appearance of the concrete by adding a touch of natural beauty and warmth. The interiors of the Eagle Bay Residence were designed by Nina Dempster from Ozbyrd Design, who made sure that the home would be tastefully decorated and outfitted with splendid high-end amenities.

Interior design by Nina Dempster from Ozbyrd Design brings an understated elegance to this home.

From the customised lift to the Coolroom, the home comes complete with every convenience one could ask for whilst still maintaining a relaxed and casual, beach house feel.

The use of natural timbers are predominant, with the recycled tallow-wood floorboards, painted white cedar-lined ceilings and walls and solid cedar cabinets dominating the interiors whilst the complete exterior is clad vertically in pacific teak. These raw timber textures juxtapose to the more industrial element of polished concrete in the feature wall of the staircase and the matching polished plaster of the fireplace.

Double-glazed sliding stacker doors open out onto a huge outdoor alfresco balcony that continues the teak motif.
