The Pious Penthouse of Magdalena with Allusive Design in Mexico

Mexico City is mostly dominated by contemporary abodes. But, the Penthouse of Magdalena is one of our favourite all-time projects. It’s not every day that you see black being used in interiors extensively. But when it is used, it creates an absolutely stunning look!

Architect Taller David Dana did an amazing job of creating this ultra-modern look. You can see the elaborated use of black, white, and pinewood in the entire house. Also, sticking to fewer colours and textures can sometimes end up looking very two-dimensional. But the pragmatic use of windows and bespoke furniture gives depth to the rooms in this penthouse of Magdalena.

Allusive Design of Penthouse of Magdalena

Every room is adorned with massive windows to bring adequate sunlight. It makes the walls appear as permeable allowing the homogeneous look. It almost feels like having the lush green garden inside! Moreover, the use of light wood finish brings a true sense of Mexican culture. Ceilings are decorated with wooden panels which makes the rooms look elongated. It visually plays with aesthetics and provides a chic vibe.

The ceiling and floor expand to the entire house and wraps up the interiors. The living area has a life-size bookshelf perpendicular to the ceiling which creates an enigmatic contrast. Magnificent black sofas sit in the centre of the living room and surprisingly infuses really well. In addition, the kitchen is our favourite part of the house! How often do you see such an enchanting all-black kitchen in real life? It literally gets your attention instantaneously.

The entire house is punctuated with meticulously arranged accessories that add a character to the house. A super long passage leads the way to two urbane bedrooms. It is the trickiest part of the house. Designing a slim lobby with no window or natural light can go wrong in so many ways. But this experienced team of architects has created a jewel out of it! The ceiling of the lobby goes with the flow of the entire house and creates a cynosure.

Both bedrooms have intricate detailing with wooden work and look like a modern dream. The bathrooms are fitted with hi-tech features and minimal tiles that translate really well with the house. The Penthouse of Magdalena is a gorgeous take on contemporary interior design.
