The 9 Jalan Siap was completed by the Singapore-based architectural firm ONG & ONG in 2008. Because they wanted to preserve materials and to reduce environmental impact, they used old recycled roof tileson the exterior walls.
The fact that it is sited on a low-rise site was not an obstacle in overlooking the luxurious greenery of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
It features a spacious central courtyard which allows natural ventilation and with the help of the floor-to-ceiling windows and large overhangs, it maintains the house cool and bright.

I love how they combined sustainability with design—using recycled roof tiles and maximizing natural ventilation is brilliant. How do you think these eco-friendly choices impact the long-term comfort and energy use of the home?
Thank you! Using recycled materials and natural ventilation significantly enhances indoor comfort by regulating temperature naturally, while reducing energy consumption and costs, making the home both eco-friendly and comfortable in the long run.
