Remodeled House in Brighton by FMD Architects

House in Brighton was completed by the Australian architectural firm FMD Architects in 2012. It’s a 3,014 square foot house located in Brighton, and it was remodeled because the owners wanted a new open living area and a master bedroom. Also, as you can see, the large windows are included in every room due to the fact that the clients wanted to permanently keep an eye on their children and by installing huge windows, their kids are always on their eyesight.

The living areas were designed to be flexible so the family could feel comfortable and free to make any changes they want.

Ah, nothing says “trust” like giant windows turning your home into a fishbowl—because who doesn’t want their kids growing up with a permanent audience? At least the flexibility means they can rearrange the stage whenever they want!

Thanks for your perspective! The design aims to balance openness with privacy, creating bright, flexible spaces that adapt to family life while maintaining comfort. It’s all about letting light in without losing that cozy, secure feeling.
