Partially Glazed Villa V by Paul de Ruiter Architects

Villa V located in Bloemendaal, The Netherlands was designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects. The ground floor of the construction is semi-positioned in the slope of the hill while the first floor is situated above the partially glazed ground. In order to create a contrast, the facades on the north and south are made out of glass while the ones in the east and west own a closed character.

The large glass facades create a strong connection between the indoors and the outdoors, the contact with the nature being actually tangible all over the house. The patio located in the center of the villa acts like the core of the house providing maximum daylight in all rooms.

Only natural elements were used in building the villa and special attention was devoted to energy by using it effectively.
