Completed by Italian studio Es Arch – Enrico Scaramellini Architetto, this recently renovated penthouse is located in Rapallo, Liguria, Italy. It is known as Casa YM – “Color of Sand” and its interiors are characterized by minimalism and warmth. Neutral hues were carefully chosen to make this space seem open, spacious and welcoming.
It is situated above a block of flats from the 1960s, and the main purpose of the renovation was to define the border between the living room and the great terrace, while also ensuring an easy communication between the two.
The kitchen also received some attention, and it now boasts fine materials and glazed surfaces. This space is separated from the living are by glass sliding doors, meaning that the two areas can easily communicate when the doors are opened. Transition from one room of the house to another is natural and easy, a characteristic that we appreciate in any contemporary home.
