Perched on the crest of Wild Coast house in Portsea, this rectangular modern home instantly draws the attention of everyone passing by. The architecture of the house is mellifluous and considerate. The vastness of the structure and topology of the land gives a floating appearance to the property. A six-meter long cantilevered portion of the house provides visual delicacy whereas the core central module stabilizes the rest of the longitudinal structure.

The strong engineered build forms and unique linear structure makes the coast house a design marvel. This boxy abode stretches up to 30 meters in length and 11 meters in width. A set of cascading cast-in-situ concrete stairs lead your way to the top. Frameless glasses cover three sides of the house giving it a sense of transparency. Automated Venetian blinds regulate the inflow of sunlight, thus making it more comfortable.

The muted color palette and sublime furniture pieces add to the richness of the space and make it look timeless. The entire house is divided into two halves vertically. On one side, living space faces the glazed façade whereas, on the other, a private space provides an uninterrupted sea view to three bedrooms. The pure and simple elegance of design spreads across 340 sqm home.

FGR Architects took the deliberate decision to use minimalistic interior materials to not dominate nature, but complement it. The transparent encased bathrooms mimic nature and give an illusion of showering outside. Massive skylights across the ceilings of the bathrooms bring an ample amount of sunlight inside. In contrast, dark joinery and black accessories adjunct each other perfectly.

The kitchen features a statement 5-metre-long textured limestone island bench. Light timber flooring finished with dark joinery covers the entire space. Dark wall hung shelves complement the space. A frameless glass wall opens up to the swimming pool and floods the kitchen with natural sunlight.

The subdued interiors provide a perfect luxurious coastal vibe to the house. The priceless view and stunning design make this house a symbol of perfection.
