Albatross Residence located in Mermaid Beach, Queensland, Australia, was designed by BGD Architects. The building has as neighbors an extensive park to the south and the beachfront to the east. The construction is spacious enough to accommodate a large family, many guests and frequent entertaining. The area where the guest can feel like home is the front facing wing, which includes a living area, a kitchen, a bathroom and a secondary stair that leads to the main media, bar and games room below.
It is a very bright house due to the front façade that is almost entirely made from glass, which also controls the ventilation and offers beautiful views of the eastern beachfront.
Warm and light colors were used when decorating the house, in order to create a nice and cozy atmosphere, while the palette of finishes of natural timbers and stone contributed to a tropical and modern aspect.
