Open Quarterdeck House by Luigi Rosselli Architects

Quarterdeck House is a home located high on the shores of Little Bay, in Sidney, , which was designed by Luigi Rosselli Architects. The plot, on which the house sits on, was owned by a coastal hospital and then was used as a location of the historical installation artwork Wrapped Coast – One Million Square Feet by Cristo and Jean-Claude.

Because of the trapezoidal shape of the site, the architects were able to a wide ground floor living space facing the ocean view, and on the upper floor, a narrow and long cantilevered structure that includes the master bedroom with private balcony that offers views over the sea.

The windows in the living room slide away, to offer the necessary opening in order to access the timber deck, which is surrounded by a shallow water filled moat that is partially a spa.
