Casa Diaz Project by PRODUCTORA

Casa Diaz is a contemporary residence situated in the peaceful Valle de Bravo, in Mexico State, Mexico. The PRODUCTORA Studio completed this 4,800-square-foot home in 2011.

Because the building adjoins a large lake, the architects designed the house as a system of elongated volumes, each with one side facing the lake. The sloping plot forced the architects to stack the three volumes in a zigzag pattern, with open terraces and sheltered patios between them.

This residence has a double personality, so to speak. From the street it seems a normal house made of natural stone and wood, with a roof made of tiles, and plastered façade, but looking from the lake, the building opens itself as a series of dynamic modern volumes, with large glass surfaces, which connect the interior with the beautiful surroundings.
