Contemporary Comporta House In Grândola, Portugal

Built on a site of 4200 square feet in Comporta, Portugal, this exceptional house was designed by a company called RRJ Arquitectos. The residence impresses with a highly contemporary layout based on straight lines and rectangular shapes, but the main choice of concrete and glass materials was also very inspired.

The home comprises 2 large concrete volumes linked by a smaller volume that was enveloped in cement and outfitted with wood fiber panels. Since the abode was mostly exposed to the sunrays from all sides, it was necessary to implement a few glazed planes, but the glass planes also feature their own shade screens that limit the flow of natural light according to the owner’s preferences. Furthermore, it’s also worth noting that the boundaries between the indoors and outdoors were blurred efficiently thanks to the transparency ensured by the multitude of glass elements.
