Designed by Altius Architecture, a Toronto-based practice, this remarkable contemporary residence is located in Clearview, Ontario, Canada. It was completed in 2011 and it incorporates different sustainable technologies like a greenhouse and a geothermal lake loop. Designed for an artist, the Clearview Residence is very different from the other homes in the area in terms of eco-friendliness.
The architects were asked to keep most of the project on one level, which led to a more extensive program, occupying quite a lot of space. However, the building beautifully integrates into the landscape, thanks to its use of carefully selected materials and colors. The extensive use of glass also helps create a better communication with the lovely surroundings. See more in the photo gallery below.
