The Carling Residence in Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada was completed by Tact Architecture in 2010. It was built for a young couple who chose to live in Canada’s beautiful Muskoka region, on the shores of the Georgian Bay.
It’s a 3600 square foot comfortable, modern and sustainable house which is a part of the terrain of their 26-acre lot.
Because the owners wanted the project to bind with the environment, they requested a calm and elegant design.
The north façade has minimal glazing while the south one provides spectacular views because of the large picture windows.
In order for the house to provide a comfortable interior climate, it was equipped with insulated concreted form walls and with a spray-foam insulated roof. The entire construction is heated by zoned radiant floor system also serving as a heat sink in the winter and as a cooler in the summer.
