This modern research institute was completed in 2013 in São Paulo, Brazil by Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos Associados. It boasts 4,972 square feet of space and represents the result of a successful renovation and expansion project that allowed it to incorporate a study center as well as an office without compromising on its original architecture.
The house features a mix of old and new elements that coexist harmoniously and complement each other. The exterior floors are made out of sturdy granite, while the interior ones are made out of wood. The workstations are the only areas that have carpets, a choice that was probably made in order to add a cozy touch to the work-dedicated areas. In order to ensure utmost acoustic comfort, the architects decided to use plaster lined acoustic plates in the auditorium. The upper floor flaunts impressive views of a green garden that covers the two new marquees while ensuring thermal comfort and motion control.
